Approval for talent development centers at non-resident district level for athletics, wrestling, lawn tennis

Solapur: ‘Mission Lakshyavedh’ has been an ambitious initiative for the development of the sports sector in the state. Under this scheme, approval has been received to start talent development centers at non-resident district level for three sports, namely athletics, wrestling and lawn tennis.
20 players will be selected under each of these centers. Eligible players should submit their applications in person at the District Sports Officer’s Office, Kumtha Naka, Solapur by April 15, 2026, District Sports Officer Shrikant Harnale has appealed.

- Eligibility Criteria:
Age Limit: Boys/Girls below 21 years (as on 31st December 2026)
Documents: Birth Certificate, School Leaving Certificate, Domicile Certificate, Adhar Card, Sports Performance Certificate of the last 2 years, 3 Passport Size Photographs, Bonafide Certificate, Parental Consent Letter etc.
Domicile: Must be a player from Maharashtra State. - Sports Performance:
Athletics and Wrestling: – State level participation or medalist
Lawn Tennis: Top three in AITA rankings, state level ranking or medalist.
Medical Examination: Valid fitness certificate from a government recognized doctor required. - Facilities: Selected athletes will be provided with non-resident sports training, infrastructure, sports equipment, organization of competitions, Sports Science Center, career guidance, capacity building programs, supplementary food expenses, domestic/foreign competition participation expenses, medical treatment and insurance facilities.
